As mentioned on the About Page, the Bonezman monicker partially started as my handle for my photography. I specialize in candid shooting and do very little studio work. Most of my work is out in public capturing the best out of the subject without them even knowing I'm shooting. I use perspective to draw the best from the subject and pay less attention to lighting than many other photographers. The truth is, lighting can be adjusted in post where perspective is lost once the subject moves. Lighting is important, but the camera angle means a lot more in this digital age. I've always tried my best to be unobtrusive when I shoot in public. It's a pet peeve of mine when photographers make a nuisance of themselves. The club scene started to fill up with a few too many photographers who have to pose their subjects blocking paths through the venue and taking up peoples time. The spontaneity of the shot is lost when you post people so such behavior violates my candid shooting principles, and I just find the interruption to both the subjects and the other club goers annoying. I decided to stop shooting unless it was a paid gig to keep myself from being associated with this riff raff. Like I said, a pet peeve. Life has thrown me a few curves over the past few years so I've done a most no shooting. I need to do equipment repairs and replacement before I do anything serious thanks to some rough handling and equipment setting idle. That said, I hope to get back out and do some more creative work in the near future. Perhaps even move back to doing more model shooting and get my work on gallery walls. We'll see. Life is still tossing those curve balls at me so I may end up ducking and covering again. My earliest work was done with Canon point and shoot digital. I started doing model shoots off and on when I acquired a Canon 10D. Love the color richness that camera brings to the table even if its lower megapixel and light handling is lacking. I still shoot the 10D off and on depending on what I need. My working camera is now a Canon 50D. Yup.. I'm too poor for a 5D/7D, or 1Dxx body, but some life insurance money allowed me to grab a prosumer camera that meets what I demand from a camera and still stay in my budget. A few issues with that body keeps me from seriously seeking photo opportunities at the moment, but once I can sit down and go over the configuration and update the firmware it should be back to production specs. A few sacrificial lens filter replacements are also needed. Glad they were on the lenses, but now I need to spend some money to replace them before subjecting the cameras to any potential harm.
